A New Harbor for Spectrum Sailing!
This summer, Spectrum Sailing arrived in Sheboygan for the very first time, welcoming 20 new sailors to experience the freedom and excitement of being on the water.
Sheboygan’s waterfront made the perfect setting for this first-year camp. As sailors headed out onto Lake Michigan, they had the chance to see their community from a whole new perspective and experience what it feels like to be part of a team on the water.
A favorite part of the Sheboygan camp was watching sailors get to know each other from the classroom to the sailboat. What started with a lot of questions and careful steps became smoother each day as sailors learned to communicate, look out for one another, and work together from shore to sail.
We are so thankful to Sheboygan Youth Sailing and SEAS for helping bring Spectrum Sailing to Wisconsin and creating such a welcoming first camp. The Sheboygan community showed up for our sailors! Local sailing coaches, volunteers, and community partners came together to create a space for every sailor to feel supported from the moment they arrived.
Twenty new sailors, one new community, and countless moments we will carry forward. Sheboygan, we are so glad to have you as part of the Spectrum Sailing crew!
