A Fresh Breeze in Pensacola!

As we celebrate World Autism Month, we’re proud to share a look back on our third annual Spectrum Sailing camp in Pensacola, Florida.

From the first morning on the dock, there was a sense of excitement. Some sailors arrived a little unsure of what to expect, while others were ready to jump right in. By the end of camp, every sailor had taken on something new, whether that meant steering the boat, helping a teammate, or simply feeling more comfortable on the water.

A highlight of the week was a special visit with members of the U.S. SailGP Team during their race weekend in Rio. Mr. Hans Henken and Mr. Mike Buckley took time to talk with our sailors about the skills that matter at every level of sailing. Their message was simple: communication is everything. Whether you are on a Catalina 22, an F50 foiling catamaran, or just navigating everyday life, listening, speaking up, and working together make a difference. That message showed up again and again through our Pensacola sailors.

We are so grateful to the Satori Foundation and Pensacola Yacht Club for welcoming Spectrum Sailing back and helping create such a positive experience for our new sailors. Thank you to Coach Jodi, instructors, volunteers, and partners who made this camp possible!

Pensacola was filled with the moments we hope for at every camp: sailors trying something new, families seeing what is possible, and confidence building one sail at a time!
