On the Water in Jacksonville!
Spectrum Sailing was back on the water in Jacksonville, Florida, for three unforgettable days of sailing, learning, and connection.
It may not have felt like Florida the whole time. A little cooler and a little windier than expected. But our sailors showed up ready to sail! By the end of camp, we saw real growth. More independence at the helm, stronger communication, and a noticeable comfort being out on the water with each other.
One of the highlights of the week was a special call with US SailGP Team athlete, Andrew Campbell. He shared his experience in high-performance sailing and how it comes back to the foundational skills that our sailors work on each day. Confidence. Communication. Teamwork.
We are grateful to our hosts at the Florida Yacht Club, along with Coach Jodi, FYC sailing instructors, and local volunteers who created a supportive and welcoming environment for our sailors. Thank you as well to all of our partners who continue to ensure every family can participate at no cost!
Thank you to SPARK for Autism for providing Spectrum Sailing bucket hats for all of our sailors. We would also like to thank Safe Kids Northeast Florida for providing life jackets for each sailor, reinforcing the importance of water safety beyond camp.
Jacksonville showed exactly why this work matters, and we’re just getting started this season.
